I love the competitions - they’ve been a great experience
Izzy started dancing with the Taylor School of Dancing at Smartie Club seven years ago and has been dancing happily ever since. It’s amazing to see how she has progressed in confidence, social skills and fitness as well as in her dancing. She gets a huge amount out of attending the competitions, both open and registered, and entering these has helped her not to be afraid to give anything a go.
Izzy says, “When I was young, I was very shy. Dancing has helped me get more confident, meet new friends and keep fit. I love the competitions - they’ve been a great experience."
We really appreciate your hard work, discipline, patience and kindness
Lily's love of ballet is infectious and her delight in achieving dainty skips and gallops a joy for all of us. We really appreciate your hard work, discipline, patience and kindness, which has helped Lily to build physical confidence and improved her listening skills!
The school is very professional and organised
My daughter has attended the Taylor School of Dance for two and a half years, she currently attends the pre-primary ballet class and Smartie club. The school is very professional and organised and because of that I feel like she gets a full lesson, which is uninterrupted and focused. She has always loved it and always comes out of classes happy, enthusiastic and worn out!
Loves coming to your Pre School Class
Beth absolutely loves coming to your Pre School Class. She shows us what she has learned at home and loves being a 'ballet dancer'.
A fun, caring and friendly environment
Hannah joined the Tayor School of Dancing 11 years ago when she was 6, and it has played a major part in her life during this time.
We have seen her grow in confidence, performing in school dance shows and competing in competitions both regionally and nationally. She is a member of the school's senior dance team and has loved having the opportunity to train and perform as part of a team, learning valuable skills that will stay with her through her life. What's more, she has made some fantastic friends along the way!
Yvonne and Mandy, through their dedication and committment and encouragement, strive to get the best out of every pupil and this shows in the excellent exam results. All this is achieved in a fun, caring and friendly environment.
Hannah's time with the Taylor School of Dancing is sadly coming to an end as she will be off to university soon, but we will have some unforgettable memories to look back on in years to come!
We would recommend the lessons to anyone who wants to learn dancing.
We have been attending Yvonne and Mandy's superb beginners ballroom dancing lessons since January 2012. It was exciting to be starting something we both like. To actually spend precious time doing it together as a couple is a rare treat! We absolutely love it, and have signed up for more classes. Most of our class from January have also continued, which shows what a great group it is and what teriffic teachers we have! We are always encouraged and thoroughly enjoy every minute.
Well done to Yvonne and her team for offering such entertaining and productive dancing classes. We hope it never ends!!
Tuesday night at The Amersham School is now our favourite night of the week!
We would recommend the lessons to anyone who wants to learn dancing.
I hope other people are as lucky as I am to be part of this great family
I have been dancing with Yvonne and Mandy for the past 11 years , starting with baby Ballet and progressing onto DIsco freestyle, Ballroom, grades and team.
For me Dancing has become one of the highlights of my week, I look forward to my lessons where I know I will have fun whilst learning new things.
As I do not live locally and therefore do not go to school locally I particularly like the fact that I have made new friends who I feel are as special as those I see on a day to day basis. If whilst learning something new I become confused or struggle in anyway I know someone will always take the time to show me and help me until I master whatever it is.
I hope other people are as lucky as I am to be part of this great family and I thank both Yvonne and Mandy for making my time here so special.
The Taylor school of dancing is like family
As a family we have been honored to have been part of the dancing school for at least 38 of its 41 years . My sister started baby ballet at 3 and then I joined 18 months later I continued dancing in the school until 7 years ago but my Mum and my daughters still dance with Yvonne and Mandy.
My girls do Disco freestyle , Ballroom and grades and last year where overjoyed to be invited to join the schools new Disco teams.
One thing I am asked regularly is why do I travel from Aylesbury to Amersham for the girls to dance when there are good dancing schools closer to home? The answer is simple - The Taylor school of dancing is like family I know what a high standard it maintains whilst making the lessons fun and enjoyable for the girls and when we go to outside competitions the team spirit is amazing all the pupils cheering each other on and congratulating them even if they have not been successful themselves.
My thanks go to Yvonne and Mandy for all the time and effort they put in to each and every pupil.
Dancing has not only helped my coordination and discipline, but my confidence too.
I have been dancing at the Taylor School of Dance for eleven years, during which time I have attended ballet, disco and ballroom classes. I am dyslexic and dyspraxic and I feel that dancing has not only helped my coordination and discipline, but my confidence too.
Feel like part of the family
As a family we have been associated with the Taylor Hill School of dancing for over 20 years as I attended an adult ballet class on a Saturday morning to start our link with the school. I am sorry to say I am probably the only one of Yvonne’s less successful pupils!
Christina began in the ballet class in 1997 and smartie club for disco freestyle soon after, followed by Ballroom classes soon after that (I think it was the sparkly shoes that did it).
In all the time that Christina has been dancing we have felt as though we have all been part of a very special family.
As a school the children always do exceptionally well in their exams (rarely achieving less than Honours) which is due obviously to the girls hard work but also to the love and total dedication that Yvonne and Mandy give to them. The girls (and boys) want to do well for themselves but also for their teachers.
At competition time, whether it be just an inter-school event or an outside competition they all support one another without exception and the spectating mothers also have formed some
We will be very sad when Christina hangs up her dancing shoes not only because our little girl is growing up but we will miss our extended family that is the Taylor-Hill School of dance.
